Good afternoon, Thessaloniki! Have you heard? The breeze simply will not stop talking about it, so you must have. It is coming. Now, I’m not exactly sure what It is, but we should all be awaiting to welcome it with open arms and certain, well-informed news about the weather.
There is a chill here, dear reader. The highs are in the mid to low 70’s, while the lows are in the 50’s for almost the whole week. Fall has arrived, and we must now all band together to fend off the onslaught of pumpkins, scarecrows, and children wielding razor blades with candy hidden inside, as we do every autumn. Over the week the humidity is increasing from 28% to 60%, and we can expect mostly sunny skies, though they are occasionally blotted out by the army of metaphorical clouds. Luckily, we have found the sun after its previous retreat. It will now rise around 7:26 AM, before hiding in fear again at 6:33 PM. As for the moon…. As for the moon…. As… for…. Dear reader, my report seems to be gone. In its place is… a note. It appears to be directed to me.
‘To one Cheshm Meriwether. Dear Cheshm, remember me? You know, The Moon? I’ve had it with you and your station management. All of you, always telling me what to do, when to rise, all that. I’m sick of it. I’m leaving. I’ll make you regret asking me to have set orbital patterns if it’s the last thing I do. With hatred and irregular phases, The Moon.’
Well, dear reader, it looks like it may be some time before the moon rises again. You do, perhaps, remember The Moon’s prior strike and the station management’s prompt resolution some time back. The one-night-a-month break that we gave it has seemingly done nothing to appease it, unfortunately. I’m sure everything will be resolved soon, but… how did this note get onto my desk…? Farewell, dear reader. Until next time, when we will be reporting in detail on each of the infinite patterns of a snowflake!
